My fascination with the Fins:
Last week's Education Nation was quite enlightening even though I disagree with much of it. The one thing you can't argue with is that Finland dominates education. There's about a thousand reasons why. One can argue its because their population equates to that of Atlanta, or that there are as many as three teachers in every classroom. Educators travel from all over the world to check out Fins and what makes them so special. The part that really floors me is that educators, government officials, and the general population got together 40 years ago to set this all in motion. Now that's what I call vision!
Anyhow, I'm attaching a few articles, sites, and video links so you can check it out for yourself.
